guardian program

At Central Texas Doodles, we believe every dog deserves a forever home with a loving family! Our guardian program guarantees that all our breeding dogs enjoy a happy life in a permanent, caring home. Becoming a guardian family for one or more of our breeding dogs offers an affordable way to have a top-quality dog as part of your family. This program allows us to be an exceptional breeder Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles without the need for kennels. We are truly grateful for the important role these families play in our breeding program!

How Does it Work?

We place "pick of the litter" puppies free of charge in their forever homes with select, local families and we retain breeding rights for the first few years.  Breeding dogs are carefully chosen for their temperament, structure, and genetics.

Requirements

  • Have previous experience with dogs

  • Own your own home with a fenced yard

  • Other family pets must be spayed or neutered

  • Effective communication skills

  • Be willing to teach basic commands

  • Be willing to socialize a puppy. (very important!)

  • Female guardians must live within 2 hours of Comanche Texas

  • Male guardians must live within 1 hour of Comanche Texas

Cost

We pay for all breeding-related expenses including health testing. The guardian family is responsible for all routine costs of owning a dog (such as vaccinations, heart-worm, preventative care and grooming). When the guardian dog's breeding career is over, four litters for females or age six, whichever comes first, and around seven years of age for males, the dog will be spayed/neutered at the Central Texas Doodle's expense, the Guardian Contract is terminated. Registration and ownership are signed over to the guardian family.
